I lived in Sweden during 1997-1998 over one and a half year, and I have to say that I enjoyed every bit of it. I made a lot of friends from different parts of the world in that shory period of time, particularly because I went to an international school.

Scandinavia is well known for its cold winters, but it is really one of the best places in the world to live in. The standards of living and healtcare and education are one of the highest in the world. The towns and streets are much more cleaner than in UK.

Sweden has many archipaelagoes which are a major tourist attraction. The summer festival 'Stockholm Water Festival' also attracts many visitors.

Swedish people also are famous for their music and for their love of English music. They would now speak in English, but would always hear English music. If you fail to understand their Swedish, only then to your surprise will they start speaking English. The famous 'Abba' group is Swedish, and there are many conerts and festivals that run throughout the summer.

Major cities are Stockholm and Gothenburg. Other cities are have very few people and large empty land. The North is famous for the Summer and Winter Solstices when people can enjoy nearly 24 hours of sunshine in the day in the summer or spend the whole 24 hours in darkness. Confused? Then look up Sweden in a map, and you will see it is nearly half-an inch from the North-Pole, the rest is geography.
