The four year sandwich degree in this pathway aims:
- to develop in the student the professional attitudes and interpersonal skills required by a practitioner in industry
- to develop an understanding of science and technology, its methods, criteria and limitiations, as applied to the field of computer systems technology
- to provide a sound foundation for advanced studies and research in computing.
Objectives
On completion of this degree, I am expected to be able to:- demonstrate understanding of the computer and system architecture
- demonstrate understanding of the architecture of the operating software
- analyse and explain the interaction between the hardware and software
- evaluate problems at the system level and formulate solutions
- evaluate and select from candidate hardware and software subsystems for problem solution
- design, implement and test software to facilitate systems integration
- critically evaluate the operation of systems
